Just steps away from The Hibernia lies UC Hastings, one of the most prestigious and respected law schools in the country. The University was founded back in 1878 as the original law department of the University of California.
At that time, the city of San Francisco was booming, and the founders of the college wanted the school to prepare lawyers to practice in a place that was close to the courts.
Today, with offerings of hands-on practice, rigorous academics, and refined educational standards, UC Hastings in San Francisco continues to prepare students for legal careers on one of the most elite campuses in the U.S.
In addition, UC Hastings is the home of some of the most notable legal centers in the country, including the Center for WorkLife Law, the Institute for Innovation Law, the Center for Gender and Refugee Studies, and the Center for Negotiation and Dispute Resolution.
